Why I Journal

Why I Journal

I thought I’d take a moment to tell you why I journal and further more, why I’ve been compelled to design journals recently. I began journaling when I was around 9 or 10 years ago and I can’t tell you how therapeutic it has been for my soul. There is something that happens when you put your pen to paper and write out thoughts, hopes, prayers and dreams. It has a way of helping me become more focused and self aware and at times even helps me connect things in my life and get to the root something that I may be working through. Not to mention, a way to record life’s moments that I can look back on and make sure I don’t forget moments, conversations, adventures, prayers that were answered.

Lastly, it holds our stories. Our life stories are powerful and are meant to be shared with our children and future generations. It’s neat to think about future generations being able to get a sense of who you were, your story, lessons learned, special moments and a sense of connectivity with you.

I recently designed 8 journals and hope you love them as much as I do! With Christmas coming up, they make great unique, functional gifts for any woman. Oh…and they are under $20! Be sure to snag one for someone special this Christmas!

It’s been such a joy to create these lovely ladies (and their birds!) Growing up as an only child with a single mother, I was surrounded with lots of dainty feminine energy. My mothers friends were like inherited aunts to me. We would stroll the streets of Charleston and as far back as I can remember colors, textures and

Charleston was my childhood home and deeply influenced my style and subject matter I feel drawn to as an artist. The city is filled with color, textures and patterns and you can’t go there without feeling inspiration oozing out of every street corner. To this day, Charleston is my happy place and our official home away from home!
